Swensen’s, a 老字号, has come up with four limited edition fusion-inspired pasta dishes that will be available from 1st March to 30th April.
The international medley of dishes includes the savoury Short Ribs Shabu Shabu Pasta, Crabmeat Squid Ink Pasta, locally-flavoured Mac ‘N’ Chic Laksa and the Chili King Prawn Pasta.
The Short Ribs Shabu Shabu Pasta is my favourite of the lot.
I’m biased towards angel hair pasta and the US short ribs is soooo tender!
The Crabmeat Squid Ink Pasta would satisfy those who prefer cream-based pastas.
This makes a delectable dish with plump crabmeat chunks and mixed Shimeiji mushrooms, tossed in a thick velvety cream sauce.
Think dry laksa prepared with macaroni and tender chicken. That’s Mac ‘N’ Chic Laksa.
It is a tad too spicy for my liking but laksa fans should like this!
The Chili King Prawn Pasta is infused with a distinct local flavour with the chili crab sauce.
I love how fresh and succulent the Whole King Prawns are, and how well it went with the tangy-tasting sauce.
