{Review} Ganban-yoku at Anti-Oxidant Centre

May 11, 2013 in Uncategorized

At Bev‘s invitation, a couple of us girls got to experience Ganban-Yoku + Yoga at the Anti-Oxidant Centre after a long day of work / time spent with kids. It was a new concept to me, but having heard from Bev that we can burn calories just lying there was good enough reason for me to try this out.

Personally, I don’t like sauna as it gets too “steamy” and humid for my liking. I find it hard to breathe after sitting in a sauna for 5 minutes. Hence, I was pleasantly surprised to find the dry sauna rooms that are specially constructed at the Anti-Oxidant Centre do feel different. You can definitely feel the heat as the temperature is kept around 39-41° C but the humidity is only about 30%, which makes it very comfortable to stay inside for a longer period.

The anti-oxidant beds are made of special ceramic tiles which release over negative ions into our body to neutralize toxins. In the process, the body perspires and detoxifies. Before we were brought into the room, we were told to drink more water. I was a little skeptical about the need for a water parade since I am the type who does not perspire easily. But I was so wrong! I didn’t do much of the yoga as I was restricted by my scoliosis back but just the sitting around and little tries here and there for the easier positions had me sweating buckets. I was doing a water parade on my own inside the room!

Some benefits of Ganban-yoku therapy include:

  • anti-ageing
  • increased metabolic rates and weight loss
  • reduced cholesterol levels
  • improved blood circulation
  • relief of pain and stiffness caused by rheumatism
  • increased immune resistance

Obviously, one session is not sufficient enough to see all the benefits but I definitely feel like I had some sorta workout after the session ended. All of us had a nice rosy blush to our faces (shall remember to take a pic the next time!) when we came out of the room. We were then treated to a glass or two of enzyme drink which tasted yummy and refreshing! Many of us couldn’t resist getting a bottle home for more.

I’m not sure if it’s psychological ‘cos I can only wait til my next visit to confirm, but my skin and hair felt like they underwent some treatment too. They felt really smooth and clean! Maybe that’s why the boss and staff of the centre all had such good and young looking skin!

Now, if that is not enough, the Anti-Oxidant Centre has also launched the Anti-Oxidant Home Building solution. This is a Japanese-based technology product with more than 10 years of product testing. The Anti-Oxidant Centre itself uses this technology. Again, I think that’s why everyone there has such good skin!

The Anti-Oxidant Home Building solution can be easily mixed into home construction materials, such as water-based paint, concrete, plastering or wood finishes during renovations to effectively create an environment with positive health benefits with anti-ageing and beautifying effects in your very own home!

Some benefits of the Anti-Oxidant Home Building solution include:

  • Removal of toxins:
The solution breaks down and eliminate harmful chemicals (Volatile Organic Compound), creating an ionised environment within the home.
  • Improved health:
More than 200,000 negative ions per cm3 is produced throughout the whole home 24 hours a day. Inhaling this healthy air has been shown to produce numerous positive benefits such as reduces allergies, improved sleep & relaxation, improves metabolism, reinforce collagen for anti-ageing, etc.
  • Odour and humidity removal:
It removes bad odour from mildew, prevents formation of mould and fungus and also evicts smells from tobacco and pets.
  • Anti-static environment:
Creates an anti-static environment, preventing dust from sticking to floors, walls and ceilings.

How apt to learn about this with our new place to be ready soon and we can probably give the raw egg experiment a try!

In the meantime, I foresee more sessions at the Anti-Oxidant Centre!
