week 36 going onto week 37

May 27, 2012 in Uncategorized
WTE waited till week 37 to tell me I’ll probably not eat as much since I’m carrying a girl.

Trying to lose weight is probably going to be on my list of to-do all my life. But I never do that during my pregnancies. However, for this second pregnancy, my weight gain has been rather minimal. I attributed it to the balance from the first pregnancy which was taking forever to get rid of.

I did realise that I’m not eating as much because I hardly feel hungry. I remember being so darn hungry when I was carrying Thaddeus, I had to rummage through my stash of snacks and eat lemon puffs in the middle of the night. For Dragonlady, it’s considered a good day if I actually have rice during dinner! For me, it’s considered good if any weight gain on my side goes to baby instead of me. All along, she seemed to be growing well as per the stages of pregnancy so I never bothered much about my diet.

Never thought it would happen to me but I started losing weight in the last trimester! It’s not right cos the weight gain should be going fast and furious in the last trimester usually. And dragonlady only gained 100g in two weeks. For the first time in my life, I was told that I probably need to gain more weight.

I’ve been trying to eat more these days but there’s only that much, or rather, little space in my tummy now. Hopefully, the high-calories fruits I’ve been having will help too.

thanks babe! as long as she's healthy, i'm not too concerned about the weight. like you said, the weight gain can come after she's here.

I say just follow your instincts – they never fail you 🙂

I'm sure your body will send signals to you if it's in need of anything. Pregnancy is miraculous that way.

    Will stay tuned for updates!
