Breakfast Talk: the one about cars and mommies

February 9, 2012 in Uncategorized

The husb and I have been on the lookout for a more kids-friendly car. After some time of look-see-ing, we noticed that many of these MPVs or SUVs are driven by hot mums!

We concluded that many of them are SAHMs who need to ferry their kids around. P came to mind and I told the husb that she’s one good example. With 3 kids of different schedules, she manages to squeeze time for herself (dance classes which puts her right in the category of hot mama) and has quality couple time with husband every now and then.

I told the husb that would be my ideal lifestyle too – to ferry our kids around, spend lots of time with them, go to the gym during off-peak hours, meet the husb for lunch, etc. (But 2 kids good enough for me, thankyouverymuch.) It was politically correct when he replied, “that’s the lifestyle I want to give to you too.”

Before I could bask in the sweetness of that statement, he went on to add, “I really enjoyed the time when you didn’t have to work cos that meant I didn’t have to work around your timing and schedules. I can wake up very early to go to the gym or wake up later on no-gym days. I don’t have to worry about having to rush to send you home after work if I have after-work plans.”

Gee, thanks dear.

And I only just got to know recently that he seriously considered getting me a small car back when COE was just a couple of grand so that I can go wherever I want without having to wait for him to fetch me. The reason he dragged his feet on it was that he couldn’t get over having to get something that he didn’t like AT ALL. Drats, if only he told me then. I’d gladly change my preferred choice. Ha!

Oh wells. At least I know I will definitely have his support when the day I can be a SAHM without financial worries come. 🙂

Not to mention, they can work with better ease of mind knowing the children are well taken care of by the mummy.

I am beginning to enjoy stayhomemum days. When the days are not so crazeee.

Yes! Now that T is not under our care, some things have to close one eye..

That is a super sweet sentence K said! I'm driving a mega mpv now. 🙁 and my dream is to actually drive a batch but that probably won't happen for a while. Now that D and I drive separate cars, it is really easier to go abouts doing our own things. But I still like being chauffeured around by him la. Haha! But guess we can't have the best of both worlds.

Haha!! I know what you mean. I think we all get to a stage when we rather be chauffeured than to drive. Even K feels that way nowadays.
