Mr Velcro

Thaddeus had been quite a sticky baby ever since he was about 3-4 weeks old. When the husb had to go back to work after my confinement, I truly felt the LOVE my son has for me. We stuck to each other pretty much from the moment we woke up in the morning, when I made breakfast, when I watched TV, when I worked on my computer, when I hung the laundry out to dry and even during nap time!

T wanted to be carried ALL the time and it was driving me nuts because the warmth was getting too literal in this weather! He liked clinging onto me so much so that he didn’t mind staying in the pouch for hours having his nap and feeds. When he was not in our arms or my pouch, he’d most probably be fussing and crying.

If I’m not wrong, colic was another factor that made T stuck close to me. He felt better when he was cradled and that was good because he won’t cry as much and take in more air, which is just a vicious cycle that makes colic worse.

It’s a lovely feeling to be needed so much by your baby. However, it’s a different story when I have difficulties getting my basic needs fixed. I hardly get to pee because I have a baby koala in my pouch. I disgust myself sometimes cos I only get to wash up and bathe when the husb or my folks are back from work at the end of the day! What to do..I’m bound by motherly duties the moment my son wakes up, which is usually when I wake up too. Hurhurhur.

WELL! Those were some sticky days which I thought I may never see the end of it. I write now at about 3 months 3 weeks, and hope I don’t jinx it..I’m grateful that T gives more little pockets of time to me since two weeks ago and I am so relieved (pun intended!) for more toilet breaks too! 😉
